Biography

Dr. Erwin Chan was born and raised in Toronto. Erwin graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. He graduated from the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 2003.

Erwin has been a clinical instructor for the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry department of Restorative Dentistry since 2010.

Dr. Chan traveled to Peru in March 2008 with a group, Kindness In Action (www.kindnessinaction.ca), to volunteer his skills in dentistry. In 2000, he traveled to the Dominican Republic for a similar mission.

Dr. Erwin is an active member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), Ontario Dental Association (ODA), Toronto Crown & Bridge Study Club, Academy of Integrative Implant Dentistry, and FORCE Orthodontic Study Club. He enjoys lifelong learning and is always choosing interesting continuing education courses to attend.

Erwin traveled to San Francisco, California in 2007 for the 38th annual meeting of the American Dental Association (ADA). Erwin completed Invisalign certification in Chicago, Illinois in May 2008.  Erwin has completed a comprehensive course in Implant dentistry in 2010 with the Academy of Integrative Implant Dentistry.  Erwin travelled to San Diego in 2011 for the Academy of General Dentistry annual meeting.  Erwin travelled to Tokyo Japan in 2013 to attend the IFEA Endodontic Congress.

Erwin is a Toronto Raptors fan and plays basketball whenever he can.

He also enjoys tennis, running, swimming, dragon-boating, skiing, snowboarding, and skating. Erwin completed his first Full Marathon in May 2010 and would be grateful for any pointers to improve his time.

We welcomed our third baby Natalie to the world in the spring of 2021 and she and her two big brothers Cole and Nate are full of energy!

He lives with his wife in North York.  On their spare time, their kids keep them busy with skating, skiing, swimming, cycling, rollerblading, chess tournaments, tennis, and this summer may add running and golfing.
